Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has written a memoir dealing with her 16-years leading one of Europe’s biggest powers.
The book runs to 700-pages, is titled “Freiheit” (“Freedom”) and was co-written by Merkel’s longtime assistant and adviser Beate Baumann.
Merkel was the country’s first female chancellor and grew up in communist East Germany
The now 69-year old steered Germany through a succession of crises including the global financial crisis, Europe’s debt and migration crises and the coronavirus pandemic.
The book will be published November 26th.
