”Lights, Camera, Action” as Mayor Olivia Chow prepares to lead a movie mission to Tinseltown next week.
Making the announcement at Cinespace Studios’ marine Terminal campus, on the set of Netflix’s production of ”Frankenstein” directed by Guillermo Del Toro, Chow says she will be joined May 8 to 10 by 40 industry representatives.
The aim is to try to encourage more filmmakers to make movies here.
The mission follows Toronto’s top ranking as ”Best Place to Live and Work as a Movie Maker” in 2024 by MovieMaker Magazine.
Two years ago, screen production in Toronto set a record with $2.8-billion in direct spending and is one of the biggest such industries in North America, employing over 35,000.
