We now know what killed American actor Lou Gossett Jr.
His death certificate lists COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) as the main cause, but points to atrial fibrillation as a contributing factor.
In 1983, Gossett made history when he became the first Black man to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work on “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
Lou Gossett Jr died March 29th at the age of 87.
