A police officer’s advice during a recent community meeting in Etobicoke continues making waves, even knocking the premier over, figuratively speaking, when asked about it today.

After saying he had to be picked up off the floor, Doug Ford disclosed the officer, Constable Marco Ricciardi and he are friends.

The premier also had trouble getting his head around the advice for auto-theft home invasions.

”To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your (car) fobs at your front door,” the officer told the town hall.

”I just didn’t understand the answer,” Ford explained.

”We might as well leave cookies and milk at the front door along with a note. ‘Dear Mr. Criminal, the keys are in the mailbox, don’t kick my door in.”

Toronto police issued a statement Thursday saying ”while well meaning, there are also other ways to prevent auto-theft.”
