Dear Prime Minister …

Doug Ford’s written Justin Trudeau a letter spelling out what he wants to see from the federal government as the two levels of government prepare to present budgets this month and next.

In it, the premier lists his signature Highway 413 projects, a recently announced Milton GO train expansion and carbon pricing among Ontario’s priorities.

Ford has repeatedly said he doesn’t understand why Ottawa is continuing its carbon pricing policy, adding if Trudeau’s Liberals don’t scrap it they’ll get ”annihilated” in the next election.

The premier would also like to get a $3-billion federal commitment to a GO train link between Milton and Toronto along with about $1-billion to build roads in the resource-rich Ring of Fire.

Ford’s also been asking the federal government to lift a freeze on his plans for Highway 413.

All this as his government is set to unveil its budget March 26 while Ottawa follows with one April 16.
