She was Canadas first lady of jazz.

Eleanor Collins has died in Surrey B.C.

Collins, who was born in Edmonton, was a groundbreaking figure in Canadian entertainment history.  Among other things; she was the first Black woman to host her own national TV series called “The Eleanor Show.”

In 2014, at the age of 95, she was invested with the Order of Canada.

In 2022, she was honoured by Canada Post with her own stamp.

Eleanor Collins was 104.
