One of the best loved movies of the 1960’s is going through a bit of a revision over what the censors are calling “discriminatory language”.
“Mary Poppins” has had its age rating raised by British film censors over the use of what is now considered a derogatory term about nomadic peoples in southern Africa.
The movie has been reclassified from a U, which stands for universal, to a PG, for parental guidance.
The film is set in London in 1910.
It earned five Oscars including best actress for Julie Andrews and best song at the 1965 Academy Awards.
