Canada’s information watchdog says she’s investigating allegations that records linked to the controversial ArriveCan app were destroyed.
Information commissioner Caroline Maynard was tight-lipped about the investigation, saying it relates to requesting and obtaining records about ArriveCan since March 2020, but gave no further specifics.
Canada’s Auditor General recently said there was a “glaring disregard” for management and contracting practices while the app was being developed and implemented.
ArriveCan was used to track health and contact information for people entering the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
