You will no longer be able to get away without paying for parking on Toronto streets during statutory holidays.

Toronto Police say beginning on Family Day (Monday February 19th) officers will be enforcing paid on-street parking during the holiday of long weekends which the police service says is an operational decision.

Toronto Police says there are no bylaws that explicitly exempt statutory holidays from enforcement.

Revenue raised will go to the City of Toronto but there is no estimate as to how much money parking enforcement on statutory holidays will generate.
