Zoomer music legend Gloria Gaynor says she still lives by the words. “I will survive.”
The now 80-year old says the words became her driving force after she first read the lyrics to her hit song.
Gaynor is “truly a survivor” having over come poverty, childhood sexual assault, financial problems, health issues and a divorce.
That’s all detailed in a new documentary called “Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive.”
It comes almost 50-years after she released the song that went on to be the first disco tune to top the Billboard charts and the only one to be awarded a Grammy for best disco recording.
“Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive,” is in theatres today for one day only.
