Joni Mitchell and Celine Dion were both on stage Sunday night in L.A. at the Grammy Awards.

80 year old Joni marked her first-ever performance at the Grammys following years of health challenges.

She also secured an historic moment in the pre-broadcast ceremony, winning her 10th golden gramophone for best folk album for Joni Mitchell Live at Newport, a recording which captured her return to performing in July of 2022.

“We had so much fun at that concert and I think you can feel it on the record,” Joni told the gathering, “It’s a very joyous record because of the people that I played with and the spirit of the occasion was very high, and it went on to the record. Even the audience sounds like music.”

No surprise, Joni Mitchell received a standing ovation from the audience.

And Celine Dion emerged as a surprise presenter in the final minutes of the show, making a rare appearance since announcing her own health troubles.

Celine Dion also received a standing ovation before she opened the album of the year envelope and announced Taylor Swift as the winner.

In receiving the album of the year for the fourth time, Taylor Swift becomes the new record holder surpassing legends Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra.
