Among the Canadians taking home a Grammy last night was 48-year old Montreal conductor Yannick Nezet-Sequin.
He was named winner of the “Best Opera Recording,” for his work on “Blanchard: Champion,” a recording of the New York Metropolitan Opera performance of Terence Blanchard’s first opera, which tells the tale of a closeted gay boxer.
The Grammy is the fourth for the Nezet-Sequin who is the Metropolitan Opera’s music director
