She was an icon of Italian cinema and muse of famed director Federico Fellini.
Sandra Milo, who played a key role in Fellini’s Oscar-winning movie “8 1/2,” died yesterday in Rome.
She got her break in the 1959 film “General Della Rovere” and went on to star with some of the greats of Italy’s post-war film industry, including Marcello Mastroianni
Fellini cast her alongside his own wife in the 1965 film “Juliet of the Spirits.” Twenty years later she recounted their 17-year secret love affair in her book, “Caro Federico.”
Sandra Milo was 90.
