The world’s biggest cruise ship is gearing up to begin its maiden voyage from the Port of Miami.
On Saturday, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is leaving South Florida for its very first seven-day voyage through the tropics.
The ship runs nearly 365 meters from bow to stern.
The ship can carry a staggering 7,600 guests when at full capacity, along with a crew of 2,350, or roughly the whole population of Carleton Place, Ontario.
Icon of the Seas was officially christened on Tuesday with a little help from soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates.
Royal Caribbean says the ship sparked the single largest booking day and the highest volume booking week in the cruise line’s history.
