The UN agency for Palestinian refugees is investigating several employees suspected of being involved in the October 7 attack, and that the Relief and Works Agency had terminated their contracts.
The agency’s commissioner-general is not saying how many were allegedly involved nor the nature of their involvement, only that any involved in acts of terror would be held accountable; including through criminal prosecution.
An Israeli government spokesperson accused the U-N-R-W-A of announcing this while the world’s attention was focused on the I-C-J ruling.
He says ”any other day, this would have been a major headline: Israel submits evidence of UN employees’ complicity with Hamas.”
The UN secretary-general is said to be ”horrified” by this news.
