According to local officials, at least 18 people have been killed in the shelling of a market in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

Sunday’s attack hit Tekstilshchik, a suburb of the city of Donetsk.

The city’s Russian-installed mayor, Alexei Kulemzin, claimed that the shells had been fired by the Ukraine’s military.

There has been no comment from Kyiv on the event, and the claims could not be independently verified by The Associated Press.

Also on Sunday, regional officials reported that fire broke out at a chemical transport terminal at Russia’s Ust-Luga port following two explosions.
