The Prime Minister and his federal cabinet ministers are gearing up for their winter retreat that starts Sunday in Montreal.
The three-day retreat for Justin Trudeau’s Liberals will focus on issues like affordability, the United States election and global affairs.
The gathering will also feature presentations from experts in areas such as economics and housing, including Western University economics professor and housing expert Mike Moffatt, who notes that there is no action that would be too much in addressing the housing crisis in Canada.
Cabinet will hear from six experts in total, who are expected to offer advice on cost of living, the middle class and Canada-U-S relations.
The meetings come just a week before the House of Commons resumes sitting following the holiday break, amid the country facing a sluggish economy and growing political instability, as Canadians continue to deal with higher interest rates and grocery bills along with ballooning housing costs.
