Global Affairs Canada is expected to issue a statement on the country’s position on South Africa’s accusations against Israel before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands.

Earlier, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broke the government’s silence over the controversial case heard the past two days.

”Our whole-hearted support for the (UN world court) and its processes does not mean that we support the premise of the case brought forward by South Africa,” Trudeau said.

The prime minister added the government wold release more details about its position later today.

After South Africa stated its case Thursday, it was Israel’s turn Friday, and not surprisingly Israeli lawyers strongly denied it the war against Hamas was ”genocidal.”

Tal Becker told the packed room, Israel is fighting a ”war it did not start and did not want.”

The president of the ICJ promises a ruling as soon as possible on South Africa’s request for an immediate suspension of Israeli military operations.
