British music legend David Bowie has been immortalized in Paris with the naming of a street in his honour.

On what would have been his 77th birthday yesterday, Paris renamed a street in the city’s southeast Rue David Bowie.

The honour was announced in 2020 to celebrate Bowie’s first performance outside the UK in Paris in 1965 and his lasting impact on music, fashion and culture.

Bowie died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 69.
