One half of the famed Smothers Brothers has died.

Tom Smothers, (pictured on the left) who had been battling cancer, passed away his home according to his younger brother Dick, who formed the other half of the iconic entertainment duo.

The folk singing brothers became pioneers with their biting satirical comedy that was at the forefront of their CBS-TV variety show “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour,” which ran from 1967 to 1969.

CBS yanked the show from the air after they ran afoul of the network for their political critiques and their opposition to the Vietnam War.

Tom Smothers was 86.
