After a feisty — and sometimes fiery — fall session of parliament, M-Ps are heading to their home ridings for the holidays.

The last few weeks have been contentious, to say the least, with the Conservatives showing their displeasure with the federal carbon pricing plan by filibustering a voting session for some 30 hours.

Still, the governing Liberals managed to get some bills passed including gun-control legislation that enshrines a handgun freeze into law and a dental-care program demanded by the NDP.
