Canadian music legend Bryan Adams has broken his silence about his song “Diana.”

And yes, it was about the Princess.

Not just that, but the song sparked a friendship with Diana after she invited him to Buckingham Palace for tea.

Adams says the Princess found the lyrics about him “losing his mind” on the day she married Prince Charles “very funny”.

The 64-year-old musician has lived in London for years and his friendship with Diana led to some speculation in the 1990s that they had had an affair; which he refuses to discuss.

Adams says he retired the song when Diana died in 1997, “out of respect.”
