Could he be considering another reversal?

This time with the plan to dissolve Peel Region in 2025?

There are whispers within the party that Doug Ford is considering rethinking it after Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown suggested property taxes would rise by an additional $1.3-billion over-a-decade.

Caledon Mayor Annette Groves says it would be ”encouraging if the province rethought” the dissolution of Peel.

Outgoing Mississauga Mayor and newly elected Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie says she and the premier don’t agree on a lot but they do on this.

”I don’t think that this is what this government wants to be known for, walking back legislation such as the nothwithstanding clause and the Greenbelt.

Certainly those were the right thing to do.  This would not be the right thing to do,” adds Crombie.

Besides, she says people expect Ford to keep the promise he made to Hazel McCallion just before she passed away in January.

When the government introduced the legislation in May, it was named after Mississauga’s longest serving mayor.
