According to Ukraine’s spy agency, the wife of that country’s intelligence chief has been diagnosed with poisoning by heavy metals.

A spokesman for the Ukrainian military intelligence agency known as GUR announced that Marianna Budanova is undergoing treatment at a hospital for the suspected poisoning.

No further details were provided.

Earlier this year, the agency told Ukrainian media that Budanova’s husband, GUR chief Kyrylo Budanov, has survived at least 10 assassination attempts allegedly carried out by Russian state security services.

Budanov had previously told reporters that his wife lives with him in his office on a permanent basis.
