There’s still no using the Rainbow Bridge following Wednesday’s fatal car crash.

Video shows the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed hit what seemed to be a median or curb, was sent airborne before crashing and exploding on the U.S. side.

The two occupants were killed.

A border patrol agent was extremely fortunate after being treated for minor injuries and released from Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

As for when the Rainbow Bridge may reopen to traffic, it could happen soon.

The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, which oversees the four bridges in the area, has had engineers checking out its structural integrity before giving the green light.

”I walked it this morning myself, too, and we’re assuming that the structure integrity is OK … so if that’s the case, sometime today, we’re expecting it to reopen,” said commission general manager Ken Bieger.

All but the Rainbow Bridge had reopened by late Wednesday afternoon.
