One of the world’s leading pianists is coming to the aid of the musicians formerly employed by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.
Emanuel Ax, who has enjoyed a four decade career and taken home multiple Grammys, will play a benefit concert November 1st at First United Church in Waterloo.
The concert sold out shortly after it was announced but organizers added 100 more tickets last night.
Proceeds will go to directly support the musicians of the KW Symphony who were thrown out of work last month when the Orchestra abruptly shut down.
The musicians are currently exploring all options for building a organization to support a new Orchestra.
