Premier Doug Ford Updates Cabinet is the headline from the nine-line news release sent by his office mid-Friday afternoon.
After Mississauga East – Cooksville MPP Kaleed Rasheed recently resigned over the Greenbelt scandal, Ford chose Todd McCarthy to replace Rasheed as Public and Business Service Delivery Minister.
Andrea Khanjin becomes Environment Minister after David Piccini moved to Labour.
The reason for that was the unexpected resignation of Monte McNaughton, who’s leaving politics altogether to take a job in the private sector.
He suggests it wasn’t over the Greenbelt.
Vijay Thanigasalam is now Associate Minister of Transportation.
Coming the day after Ford admitted the government Greenbelt plan was a mistake and that he will return the lands, NDP Leader Marit Stiles, not wanting to take any chances, plans to re-introduce legislation to the effect Monday when MPPs return for the Fall session.
