There is a new president at the Zoomers’ Advocacy group, CARP.
Former veteran public broadcaster Rudy Buttignol, who’s based in British Columbia, tells Zoomer Radio News, he was motivated to join the new vision of aging movement after a conversation with Zoomer Media founder and CARP chairman Moses Znaimer.
“I was retiring from British Columbia’s Knowledge Network, a public broadcaster, and I got a call from Moses Znaimer, who I’ve known for a very long time and he asked me if I was interested in being retired, to which I said ‘no’, and we started having discussions about Zoomer and ended up talking about CARP and my interest in that, and the more we talked about his various companies, it was CARP that I was really interested in,” Buttignol explained.
Buttignol says he sees his role as building a sense of community among older Canadians after the pandemic.
Moses says, “like CARP, Rudy understands the importance of serving older audiences. And like the Knowledge Network, CARP understand that growing the membership base is what fuels our vitality and clout with all levels of government across Canada.”
