Thousands of people lined the streets of Bray in County Wicklow, Ireland this morning for the funeral of Irish singer and activist Sinéad O’Connor.

The 56-year-old musician died at her home in London last month.  The cause of death has not yet been made public but police say it was not suspicious.

O’Connor lived in Bray, which is on the coast south of Dublin, for a number of years.

As a tribute, a sign made of white letters nine metres high, spelling “ÉIRE SINÉAD” with a love heart in the middle, has been installed on a seaside cliff.
