A 25-year-old man from Ontario is the latest firefighter to die on the job during this year’s historic wildfire season.
RCMP in British Columbia say the man died while battling the Donnie Creek wildfire in the northeastern part of the province.
Police say he was working in a remote area about 150 kilometres north of Fort St. John when his heavy-duty ATV rolled over a steep drop on a gravel road.
His name has not been released.
He is the fourth firefighter to die across the country this month, and the second killed in B.C.
