For a time the actor being considered for the job of the world’s best known secret agent was Idris Elba.

However the 50-year old Brit says he was put off even thinking about playing 007 because of what he called “disgusting” racism and that he took the brunt of it”

Elba, who is known for starring in “Luther” and “The Wire.” was often mentioned as a favourite to take over from Daniel Craig and says he felt super complimented for a long time.

But he says not all corners of the world were so enthusiastic and it all came down to “race,” which is why he officially ruled himself out of the competition in March.

Daniel Craig made his fifth and final appearance as James Bond in 2021’s “No Time To Die.”
