New York’s Metropolitan Opera is getting a bit of a make-over led by Canadian wunderkind Yannick Nezet-Seguin.
He’s taking the Met on its first tour since 2011 and the first solely of the orchestra since 2002, giving concerts, beginning today in Paris, London and Germany
The 48-year old Montreal native is finishing his fifth season as music director and has teamed with Met general manager Peter Gelb to turn the 140-year-old company to more contemporary music in an attempt to engage a wider audience.
