JAZZ MUSICIAN WHO WORKED WITH THE GREATS HAS DIED AT 94

A jazz musician who accompanied such artists as Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel and Harry Belafonte has died at 94.

Bill Lee — father of filmmaker Spike Lee who scored four of his son’s early films — has died at his home in Brooklyn.

The older Lee was a session bassist who played with many of the greats including the late Canadian icon Gordon Lightfoot, Aretha Franklin, Cat Stevens and Peter, Paul and Mary.
