If you’re shying away from summer travel because of recent long lines at Toronto’s Pearson Airport, officials are promising smoother sailing this summer.
Greater Toronto Airports Authority C-E-O Deborah Flint says traveler experiences at Pearson will be far better thanks to more employees and the lifting of pandemic regulations that caused long line-ups at customs.
“Last year still had a lot of health and pandemic-related processes at customs that had exponentially increased the processing time for passengers to come into customs and because of that, we were having to hold passengers on aircraft for extended periods of time.”
Pearson also has an upgraded baggage system relying on artificial intelligence that’s designed to anticipate overloading and detect potential breakdowns before they occur.
