Canada Post has released its first stamp featuring King Charles as monarch.
According to the Crown company, this is the first time the King has been shown on a Canadian postage stamp.
The stamp was released Saturday at the ceremony in Ottawa marking the King’s coronation.
According to Canada Post, the stamp carries on the company’s more than 170-year legacy of producing definitive stamps featuring the Canadian sovereign.
It claims that a pre-Confederation stamp showing Queen Victoria, the King’s great-great-great grandmother, marked the beginning of the tradition in 1851.
The stamp features a portrait of Charles by photographer Alan Shawcross.
