Justin Trudeau’s brother denies the Trudeau Foundation was involved in foreign interference.

“The idea that there was a set-up here I just think is blatantly false,” Alexandre Trudeau told the commons committee investigating foreign interference.

Alexandre Trudeau says the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation has not been part of any interference attempts by the Chinese government.

And he also denied any communication about the issue with the prime minister.

“I’m one of the few adult people in this country who can offer him a world outside of politics,” the younger Trudeau explained, “I do not discuss public affairs with my brother. I never text about it, I have no contact with the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office). I haven’t for the duration of his government.”

Alexandre Trudeau, who’s been involved in the Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation since its early days says donations from Chinese businessmen were negotiated before his brother became prime minister.

He asked to appear before the committee to dispel what he calls “misinformation” and called for an investigation because he says there’s no possibility of interference related to the donations.
