TRUDEAU: CSIS MUST TELL MPs ABOUT ALL THREATS AGAINST THEM, REGARDLESS HOW CREDIBLE

Justin Trudeau says Canada’s intelligence agencies are being told to immediately inform MPs if there are any threats against them, regardless of whether the threats are considered credible.
”We’re making that directive now. We are making it clear to CSIS that when it involves an MP, even if it’s not hitting a threshold they would previously think needs to be highlighted,” the prime minister adds.
He says the Canadian Security Intelligence Service never told anybody about information it had received regarding Beijing threatening family members of Wellington-Halton Hills Conservative MP Michael Chong, who live in Hong Kong.
Trudeau says he only learned Monday, after it had been reported in the media, that CSIS had intelligence about threats two years ago.
