Toronto’s real estate market continues to recover, while the number of sales and prices are still down significantly from a year ago.

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board has released its latest report which puts sales for the month of April at 7,531.

That number is down 5.2 percent from April of 2022, but up about 9 percent from March of this year.

Buyers do not have the choice of homes they had a year ago, which TRREB says is forcing the price of homes up.

There were 11,364 new listings for April, down 38.3 percent from a year ago.

And the average price of a GTA home in April was $1,153,269 which is down just under 8 percent from April of 2022.

The April average price is 4 percent higher than the average price of $1,108,499 in March.
