The Toronto mayoral campaign turned nasty on Thursday.

Ana Bailao is taking aim at fellow candidate Josh Matlow.

In a just released statement, Bailao gives Matlow a failing grade for “plagiarising” the policies of former candidate Gil Penalosa.

She goes on to give examples of the policies she says Matlow has taken from Penalosa’s campaign, including around Ontario Place, tenant protection, libraries, school policies and affordable housing.

Bailao ends her statement by saying “Josh Matlow is not the policy wiz he claims he is.”

Matlow has yet to respond at the time of this report.

A recent Angus Reid poll on the Toronto mayoral race names Olivia Chow, Josh Matlow and Mark Saunders as the top three contenders with 43 percent of Toronto voters still undecided.
