Acclaimed Canadian author and Order of Canada member Joan Clark has died.

She wrote more than 15 books for adults and children, including. “Latitudes of Melt,” “The Dream Carvers” and “An Audience of Chairs” which was turned into a movie of the same name in 2005.

Clark was born Nova Scotia and spent most of her life in Atlantic Canada and Alberta before settling in St. John’s, N.L

She received multiple awards and recognition for her writing and was named to the Order of Canada in 2010.

Joan Clark was 88.
