President Emmanuel Macron’s pension plan has received the green light from France’s Constitutional Council and can be enacted within 15-days.
The unpopular legislation raises the age at which a citizen can draw a full pension from 62 to 64.
The government says the law would take effect September 1, as first planned.
The opposition and unions warn the fight is not over.
In fact, the opposition has tabled another bid for a referendum, which should be reviewed by the Constitutional Council in early May.
Far-right leader Marine Le Pen urges voters to back those who oppose the plan in the next election, so it can be scrapped.
