The called it the Country Music Television Awards, but the show had a decidedly rock and pop feel last night.
Canadian Country Music legend Shania Twain was presented with the “Equal Play Award” last night in Austin, Texas for being a visible and vocal advocate for diverse voices in country music.
And Canadian rocker Alanis Morrissette brought some 90’s pop to the stage leading a group performance of “You Oughta Know.”
The show wad dedicated to those whose lives were changed by gun violence with artists wearing black ribbons to honour those killed at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee last Monday.
