One of her biggest hits was written by a Canadian.

“Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About,” was written by the late Shirley Eikhard and won a Grammy award.

But Bonnie Raitt has written lots of her own material and earned 10 Grammys in the process.  Now one of her own songs “Just Like That” is nominated for song of the year and best American roots song.  A win would be the 73 year old performer’s first Grammy for song writing.

The Grammys will be handed out Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Raitt is scheduled to play Toronto’s Massey Hall October 6th.
