Half of Canadian workers plan to look for a new job this year.

That’s nearly double the number reported a year ago by recruitment firm Robert Half.

50 % cent of respondents to the firm’s newest survey said they planned to search for a new job in the next six months – a number that’s climbed steadily over the last 18 months- from 21 % in June of 2021.

“Professionals with in-demand skills know they have leverage given the talent shortage, and are open to new opportunities that offer more fulfilling work, a higher salary, and improved perks and benefits,” said David King, senior managing director of Robert Half.

Meantime, the latest jobs data from Statistics Canada for December 2022 is set to be released on Friday.
