Some high profile Canadian politicians are facing backlash for hosting a media publisher in Ottawa who has a history of promoting antisemitism and holocaust denial.
Nazih Khatatba, editor-in-chief of Meshwar Media met with Transport Minister Omar Alghabra and Green Party leader Elizabeth May.
In a photo posted to Twitter, Alghabra, May and other MP’s are wearing Palestinian Keffiyeh scarves that symbolize Palestinian nationalism.
May is also coming under fire for saying in a speech that when it comes to the Canadian/Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group, she “takes her marching orders from the permanent representative for Palestine in Canada”
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs is outraged saying no Canadian elected official should get their marching orders from a foreign government.
Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre President Michael Levitt is sickened by the meeting with Meshwar Media saying its vile history of promoting Jewish hatred and holocaust denial are well documented.
Liberal MP Anthony Housefather says there is no place on Parliament Hill for this media group.
