ROBERT CLARY, LAST 'HOGAN'S HEROES' STAR, DIES AT 96

Robert Clary, who played an Allied prisoner of war in the 1960s TV sitcom ”Hogan’s Heroes,” has died at 96 of natural causes
Clary played feisty Corporal Louis LeBeau in the series, that also starred Bob Crane, Richard Dawson, Larry Hovis and Ivan Dixon.
In real life, Clary was a Holocaust survivor.
When he was a teenager, Clary and his family were taken to Auschwitz, where his parents were killed the day they arrived.
He credited his love of performing with helping him survive and waited nearly four decades before going public with his Holocaust experience.
Clary also appeared in several TV soaps ”Days of Our Lives,” ”The Bold and The Beautiful” and ”The Young and the Restless,” in movies ”Ten Tall Men” and ”Thief of Damascus” as well as on Broadway in ”New Faces of 1952″ and ”Seventh Heaven.”
