After losing the provincial riding of Mississauga-Lakeshore in 2018, a former Ontario Liberal finance minister is looking to win the south Mississauga riding in next month’s federal by-election.
“It’s a big decision for me but I do look forward to getting back,” Charles Sousa explained to guesthost Jane Brown on Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer, “I have a bit more independence, my children are adults now and I hope I can make a difference over the next few years before the next general election to try and contribute to our country. I was excited about the opportunity and I took it upon myself to give back again.”
Sousa is hoping to keep the riding red after Liberal Sven Spengemann stepped down in May to take a position with the United Nations.
He is up against Conservative Ron Chhinzer and Julia Kole for the New Democrats.
The federal by-election in Mississauga-Lakeshore is December 12th.
