The Prime Minister says his government has committed to investing significantly more in health care.
But Justin Trudeau warns the government also needs to make sure Canadians see the results of an improved system.
“As the president of the Canadian Medical Association said this summer, there’s no point just putting more money into a broken system, ” said Justin Trudeau.
Trudeau says the government wants to ensure people have access to a family doctor and to mental health services, and that emergency rooms are open when their children need them.
The premiers want a 13 per cent increase in federal health transfer payments.
