The Canadian National Exhibition opens Friday, but today, the ‘Ex revealed this year’s wacky food menu that includes mac and cheese pizza and lemonade, deep fried coffee and spicy pickle lemonade.

And of course the much talked about mustard and ketchup ice cream.

Meanwhile, CNE officials are insisting the midway rides will be safe despite an ongoing strike by safety inspectors. The CNE kicks off Friday and runs until September 5.

- Croffles (Croissant Waffles)
- Cinnamon Curd Crunch (deep-fried cheese curds topped with cinnamon sugar)
- Deep Fried Coffee (a deep-fried funnel cake topped with cocoa beans, to be transparent)

- Dole Whip Pineapple Split and Pickle Split (banana split with a twist)
