It is considered the finest inlaid violin ever made by Antonio Stradivari.
It’s called “Hellier’s Stradivarius” and was made in 1679.
It’s also being called the highlight of Christies Classic Week Auction and goes on the block July 7th in London.
It’s expected to fetch between $7-million and $11 million,
Christies calls the sale a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that exemplifies the best-of-the-best.
The violin has most recently been on loan to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.
